Horsley Football Club Becomes FA Charter Standard Community Club

The FA have confirmed that Horsley Football Club has been awarded the FA Charter Standard Community Club award. There are only 460 Community Clubs in the UK out of a total of approximately 40,000 clubs. Being a Community Charter Standard Club is the pinnacle of the FA’s club development pathway and will be those that have a high quality, multi-team (minimum of 10 teams) set up with excellent social, training and playing opportunities for all. As such, the number of Community Clubs is one of the truest measures of success for The FA Football Development strategy and we are one of the few to have achieved this. About Us

Horsley Football Club is located in Surrey and was founded in 1903. Its aim is to provide the opportunity for youths and adults of all abilities to play competitive football in a safe, controlled, and friendly environment.

Horsley Football Club is proud to be recognised by the Football Association as an FA Charter Standard Club and we are now one of the Surrey Football Associations official Coach Education venues aiding in the training and development of grass roots football locally. In September 2012 Horsley Football Club was named as a Community Club by Fulham Football Club. This prestigious award gives the club closer links with the Premier League side including the opportunity for our coaches to visit Fulham's training ground for coaching sessions and education to develop their own coaching skills.

We have FA Qualified Coaches managing over 400 youths and adults, with teams from under 6 to under 18 in the Youth secition and Senior teams playing in the Surrey Elite League, plus a Veterans team.

All age group managers carry at least a Level 1 FA Coaching certification, have attended First Aid and Child Protection workshops, and have been through CRB verification.

We encourage everyone involved with the Club – players, coaches, parents, and spectators – to help us ensure the football is competitive, challenging, and most importantly enjoyable.

Training is offered to all volunteers that are interested in becoming a coach, manager or other vital helpers at the club. If you would like to help out in anyway of just want to find out more about the club please feel free to contact us.
